Тема урока: Eating at school

Класс: 9

Оборудование: компьютер, проектор, ЦОР, дидактический материал.

Цель: написание доклада на тему: «Рекомендации по улучшению питания в школе».

Задачи: 1. практиковать аудирование с полным пониманием смысла текста и деталей.

              2. ознакомить с новой лексикой по теме и практиковать применение в речи.

              3. практиковать запрос информации о незнакомой еде и давать объяснение.

              4. практиковать написание формального доклада.

Ход уроков.

1. Урок первый. Организационный момент. Good morning, dear students. I’m glad to see you. The topic of our lesson is eating at school. I think it’s interesting and useful because at the end of the lessons you can give your own recommendations to improve eating at our school. Why do we eat? What is healthy eating?

2. Повторение лексики по теме. Режим работы – индивидуальная, парная. Match the pictures and the names of different food (ex. 1a). In pairs put the food in the pictures into three categories. Pay special attention to the dishes which are suitable to eat in a school canteen (ex. 1b).

3. Аудирование с извлечением специальной информации. Аудирование с понимание деталей (функциональные клише). Now listen to the people talking in three different situations and complete the table (ex. 2a). Listen again and tick the expressions the people used in their conversations (ex. 2b).

4. Предъявление новой лексики. Организация тренировки и применение. Заполнение таблицы: Какие вещества содержатся в разных продуктах? How does food influence our health? Read the diet guidelines and decide which two are really unhealthy and give your reasons (ex. 3a). In groups ask each other what you know about different food and add more examples to the table below (ex. 3b).

5. Составление диалога по матрице. Предъявление ЦОР (меню британской школы и меню нашей школы).

Look at the blackboard and say how does food in a British school differ ours? Предлагается составить диалог по теме виртуальная столовая. Участники – ученик из русской школы и из британской школы (ex. 4).

6. Урок второй. Is it important what food you eat? It is said you are what you eat. Explain, how do you understand it? Подготовка к написанию формального доклада. Read the following report about a school canteen and answer the questions (ex. 5abc).

КОЗ – письменная коммуникация, уровень 2. Подготовка к написанию формального доклада.

Ежедневно Вы посещаете нашу школьную столовую. В столовой готовят разные блюда, которые могут Вам нравиться или нет. Администрация школы совместно с персоналом школьной столовой приняла решение об улучшении качества питания, при этом, учитывая пожелания самих школьников. Вам предлагается написать доклад координатору проекта по улучшению питания. В докладе Вам следует описать место, отведенное для питания. Выявить плюсы и минусы, включив в меню, наиболее востребованные и любимые блюда школьников.

            1. Составьте план Вашего доклада: вступление, анализ питания, рекомендации, заключение.

2. Старайтесь использовать все слова и выражения, выделенные черным в тексте.

3. Не используйте в Вашем докладе конструкции, используемые в устной речи.

Subject: Report on the school canteen

            The purpose of the report is to describe the school canteen, to outline any good or bad points and make some recommendations.

            It is worth pointing out that the canteen has a wide variety of dishes, drinks and snacks. The prices are reasonable so all students can afford them. I interviewed several students to find out which snacks are most popular and out that most of them go for macaroni and roasted chicken legs, steaks and buckwheat, rice and fish, different gruel, biscuits, fruits. Drinks on the menu are mostly tea, cartons of juice, stewed fruit, kind of jelly. However, there could be more salads.

            In my view the canteen staff is not doing enough to provide young people with the chance to eat healthily. It would be worth considering foods with added bran, for instance, in bread and in pasta such as whole meal macaroni. Also, it would be a good idea to made use of brown and wild rice and potatoes cooked with their skins on. The managers should think of adding more raw fruit and vegetables to the menu/ In other words, I would recommend that they sell some fresh fruit and make fresh juice from different vegetables.

            In spite of minor drawbacks, I think, young people enjoy eating in the school canteen. Moreover, if the canteen management takes some measures to improve the quality of the food served, the canteen will become one of the best school canteens in the area.

 7. Заключительный этап урока. Домашнее задание – написать доклад.

Цель: способствование размышлению над составляющими здорового образа жизни и образа жизни самих учащихся.

Задачи: 1. практиковать употребление новой лексики в контексте

              2. тренировать беглое говорение

              3. читать текст с полным пониманием содержания

              4. учить высказывание по теме

Оборудование: компьютер, проектор, ЦОР, дидактический материал.

Ход уроков.

1. Организационный момент. Приветствие, объявление темы урока.

Good morning, students. Glad to see you. Nowadays they speak much about a healthy way of life. It is said that healthy body, healthy mind. Do you agree? What makes a healthy lifestyle to your mind?

Ex. 1 Choose from the list and add your own ideas.

Посоветовать добавить в качестве дополнения к понятию здорового образа жизни отсутствие стресса, если учащиеся не предложат эту идею сами. For example, what about stress, does it influence our health?

2. Фонетическая зарядка. Работа над произношением новой лексики, определение значения новых слов (ex. 2a). Look at the pictures and choose what these words and phrases mean.

3. Предъявление нового материала. Организация тренировки и применение (ex. 2b). Анкета «Ведешь ли ты здоровый образ жизни?». После выполнения анкеты, проверяется понимание новых слов во фронтальном режиме. Now do the quiz and score the result. Say how does exercising and food influence our health?

4. Чтение текста о стрессе с полным понимание прочитанного (использование ЦОР). Заполнение таблицы. Ученики выполняют КОЗ – информационная компетентность, аспект – отбор информации, уровень 1.

Понятие «стресс» широко известно. Стресс проявляется по-разному: ощущение усталости, депрессия, головные боли, проблемный сон, смех и плач без причины, нарушение питания.

What is stress?

Stress is what you feel when you react to pressure, either from the outside world (school, after school activities, family, friends) or from inside yourself (wanting to do well in school, wanting to fit in). Stress is a normal reaction for people of all ages. It’s caused by your body’s instinct to protect itself from emotional or physical pressure or, in extreme situations, from danger.

Is stress always bad?

No. In fact, a little bit of stress is good. Most of us couldn’t push ourselves to do well at things – sports, music, dance, school – without feeling the pressure of wanting to do well. Without the stress caused by deadline, most of us also wouldn’t be able to finish projects or get to work or school on time.

If stress is so normal, why do I feel so bad?

With all the things that happen at your age, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Things that you can’t control are often the most frustrating. Maybe your parents are fighting, or your social life is a mess. You can also feel bad when you put pressure on yourself – like pressure to get good grades or to get promoted at your part-time job. A common reaction to stress is to criticize yourself. You may even get so upset that things don’t seem fun anymore and life looks pretty grim. When this happens, it’s easy to think there’s nothing you can do to change things. But you can! See the tips below.

How can I deal with stress?

Although you can’t always control the things that are stressing you out, you can control how you react to them. The way you feel about things results from the way you think about things. If you change how you think, you can change the way you feel. Try some of these tips cope with your stress:

-          Make a list of the things that are causing your stress. Think about you friends, family, school and other activities. Accept that you can’t control everything on your list.

-          Give yourself a break. Remember that you can’t make everyone in your life happy all the time. And it’s okay to make mistakes now and then.

-          Don’t do what you don’t want to do. If you’re already too busy, don’t promise to decorate for the school dance. If you’re tired and don’t want to go out, tell your friends you’ll go another night.

-          Find someone to talk to. Talking to your friends or family can help because it gives you a chance to express your feelings. However, problems in your social life or family can be the hardest to talk about. If you feel like you can’t talk to your family or a friend, talk to someone outside the situation. This could be your psychologist or doctor.

What are some things that don’t help you deal with stress?

There are safe and unsafe ways to deal with stress. It’s dangerous to try to escape your problems by using drugs and alcohol. Both can be very tempting, and your friends may offer them to you. Drugs and alcohol may seem like easy answers, but they’re not. Using drugs and alcohol to deal with stress just adds new problems, such as addiction, or family and health problems.

I’ve tried dealing with my stress, but just feel like giving up.

This is a danger sign. Stress can become too much to deal with. It can lead to such awful feelings that you may think about hurting – or even killing – yourself. When you feel like giving up, it may seem like things will ever get better. Talk to someone right away. Talking about your feeling is the first step in learning to deal with them and starting to feel better.
